My fellow blogger The Flower Girl is hosting a giveaway and as I am in love with the dress she is giving away, I thought I'd go for an extra entry by posting about it here. Check out her lovely blog!
Cheers!
P.S. Did anybody catch my pun? I'm a sucker for puns :)

Caged
A sad song drifts from the golden cage,
Of beauty and sweetness, terror and rage.
Uncontrolled long for distant sky,
The scent of roses way up high.
Freedom so close, but yet so far,
Never to go farther than iron bar.
Wings are trapped, short life is drawn,
Only release is the haunting song.

Haven't we all felt this way?
Of beauty and sweetness, terror and rage.
Uncontrolled long for distant sky,
The scent of roses way up high.
Freedom so close, but yet so far,
Never to go farther than iron bar.
Wings are trapped, short life is drawn,
Only release is the haunting song.

Tis Not Fit-ting...
So after a week of recovering from a cold and a lingering cough, I think I am finally ready to go work out!! Yay :). I'm not the most athletic girl in the world, but I do like staying active and I have been really bummed about being sick and being too tired (and lazy :P) to go for a quick jog. I had been working out before and I felt pretty good, but since that's all sort of slipped down the drain I'm happy I can start again. I'm not a huge fan of New Years resolutions, but I did make one of working out at least 30 minutes day, which is actually the recommended amount to staying healthy and in shape. I like being healthy. So here's to working out!
Cheers!

More Art Journal!
Here are my promised photos of pages 3 and 4. Hope you enjoy!
The flower one was interesting to do, and I really love my robot! Think I should name him?
Cheers!

This is the fourth page. I wanted to draw something pretty simplistic and I had an idea of a robot-type thing, and this is what it ended up as. I really like how it came out!

I glued a square of foil in the middle of the page and just used a pen to draw around it. |
Don't you just love his face? He looks like he isn't sure what to do, now that there are little birds nesting on his head! I also love how the mama bird has her eye shut in perfect contentedness. |

My Art Journal
I was inspired to make an art journal from some beautiful art books my mom got from the library that were brimming with creativity and inspirational ideas. So when I got a moleskin journal for Christmas (from my lovely mother who had overheard me talking about creating an art journal), I started experimenting with ideas and mediums to create different pieces. So here they are :).
I have finished pages 3 and 4, I just need to take good pictures of them and get them up here, so stay tuned!

Doesn't the bird and the tree fit perfectly? I didn't even mean for that to happen! |

I just wrote whatever words came to mind when I looked at the girl's face. |

Getting to Know Me
I figured I would put some pictures up of me, not because I'm drop-dead gorgeous and beautiful (that goes without saying), but to give you a better idea of who I am, my artistic style (lots of practice editing my face haha), and just what I look like. I think it's always nice to know what a blogger looks like, it makes you feel more connected to them somehow. So here I am :).
All of these have been my profile picture on my Facebook sometime or another, so you might of seen them there.

A Crazed Girl
I have a fetish for morbid, haunting poetry and this poem fit those categories perfectly as well as appealing to my wanderlust. It evokes lonely seascapes and waifish girls in billowy white dresses and made me long for the ocean (more than usual).
A Crazed Girl
That crazed girl improvising her music. Her poetry, dancing upon the shore, Her soul in division from itself Climbing, falling She knew not where, Hiding amid the cargo of a steamship, Her knee-cap broken, that girl I declare A beautiful lofty thing, or a thing Heroically lost, heroically found. No matter what disaster occurred She stood in desperate music wound, Wound, wound, and she made in her triumph Where the bales and the baskets lay No common intelligible sound But sang, 'O sea-starved, hungry sea.'
